In 2018 (until 2019), I was asked to be a member of the structure and appointment committee for appointing a full professorship in Spanish and Latin American Literary Studies. In this process, I represented both the interests of students (as a doctoral student) and those of the mid-level faculty (in my capacity as a lecturer). As an active member, I went through all five stages of the commission's work: from the structural commission (1), to reviewing all application dossiers (2) and reading the publications of the selected candidates (3), to the probationary lectures (4) and the appointment of the new professorship (5). I was also responsible for writing the protocol at one of the meetings. The experience of participating in the commission as a member allowed me to gain a deeper insight into university policy issues.
In addition, I serve as a member of various academic associations, which has already allowed me to establish many important contacts and has enabled me to have research stays (such as at the University of California, Santa Barbara) and publications (in the Revista Canaria de Estudios Ingleses or the University of Alcalá Publishing House). The associations of which I am currently a member are the following:
- Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas - International Association of Hispanists
- Associazione Italiana di Studi Iberoamericani - Italian Association for Ibero-American Studies
- HispaUSA / Asociación de estudios sobre la población de origen hispano en EE. UU. - Association for Studies on the Hispanic Population in the USA
- International Association of Inter-American Studies
- Sociedad Suiza de Estudios Hispánicos - Swiss Society for Hispanic Studies
